I am currently attending The Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University where I am pursuing a Master’s of Science Degree in journalism with a digital media concentration. I have created this page so that you may view some of the previous work I have done at various publications during my career as well as to keep the world updated on my progress, my passions and the occasional observation on life.
I have always been an avid consumer of journalism. My first love was the magazine. There was no better treat than when the newest issue of the family’s subscription to National Geographic arrived at home in Ada, Mich. My first role as a journalist came as a stint as a newscaster on my high school’s morning announcement show.
After graduating, I spent the summer on the shores of Lake Michigan, covering global water infrastructure for Circle of Blue, a Web site based out of Traverse City, Mich.
Now, I’m in New York City on the next leg of my journey.
I am a dedicated, serious worker but I also love adventure. I love New York City, but I also miss wide open space and often worry what I am going to do for an entire winter without skiing. I love hard-hitting serious news, but I’m also obsessed with what’s cool in the world of trendspotting, urban art and hip-hop.
These are what keep me ticking, progressing and constantly pushing my comfort zone. I am always looking for opportunities to marry both sides of what keeps me ticking, while expanding my horizons and exploring new corners of my world.
I am always open to inquiries, please e-mail me at connor.boals@gmail.com or call me 616.481.4446. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Connor Boals
